The battle against MPOX continues, and to win the WHO asks for “Continuous International Support.” While waiting to receive funds, the World Health Organization said Monday that he kept the alert in front of the epidemic.
On June 9, WHO General Director Adhanom Ghebreyesus Tedros, “announced that Mpox’s outbreak continued to comply with the urgency criteria of public health of the international scope” (USPPI). The USPPI was until last year the highest alert level against an epidemic according to international health regulations (RSI). But the amendments adopted in June 2024 by WHO countries introduced a greater degree of alert: that of “emergency due to a pandemic.”
