The United States Ministry of Justice announced on Thursday the opening of an investigation aimed at several important universities in California, suspected of not respecting the prohibition of considering ethnic origin in its admissions. A practice qualified as “discriminatory” by the Trump administration.
The establishments in question are among the most prestigious in the United States: Stanford, Berkeley, UCLA and UC Irvine. The last three are part of the public network of the University of California.

“Each American student deserves to be judged only according to their work, their intelligence and their character, not the color of their skin,” said Justice Minister Pam Bondi, promising with Donald Trump to “end illegal discrimination and restore opportunities based on merit throughout the country.”
