Pimkie escapes Camaïeu’s fate. Indeed, the continuation plan was validated by the Lille Commercial Court on Thursday. This decision puts an end to the observation period begun at the end of May, when the safeguard procedure for Pimkie.
Forecasts suggest that “we can expect to pay off our liabilities and return to profitability from 2026”, the court noted, setting a two-year term for the continuation plan, which enables Pimkie to avoid receivership or liquidation.
“2025 will be a pivotal year”.
“This is a positive sign,” said Marie-Annick Merceur, a CFDT union delegate, while stressing that “2025 will be a pivotal year” for the group’s future.
In crisis like many other ready-to-wear chains in France, notably Camaïeu which has disappeared, Pimkie has undergone, since 2023, two job protection plans (PSE) which should lead to the closure of a hundred stores and the loss of nearly 500 jobs.
At the end of July 2024, the brand, which targets a young female clientele, still had 1,303 employees and 154 affiliated stores, the Lille Commercial Court stated in its ruling.
