Firearms, the first cause of death in children in the most permissive states

The United States pays a high price for firearms. A study published Monday in Jama Pediatrics magazine reveals that states that had relaxed their weapons legislation experienced a strong increase in the number of deaths of children, mainly due to homicides and suicides. Between 2011 and 2023, more than 7,400 additional deaths related to weapons were registered compared to trends in previous decades.

This peak infant mortality by firearm arises, while the death of children due to road accidents, previously in mind, have decreased.
