Sweden summoned the Russian ambassador to Stockholm to protest against Russian attacks in Ukraine, including those who killed 35 people in Soumy, the Ministry of Swedish Foreign Affairs announced Tuesday.
“Russia’s responsibility to protect civilians and civil infrastructure according to international humanitarian law has stood out with the Russian ambassador,” the ministry said. The citation of Ambassador Sergei Beliaev “took place to clearly take the continuous attacks of Russia aimed at cities and the Ukrainian civilian population, as well as against the serious attacks against the cities of Souumy and Kryvyïric in recent weeks,” he explained.
