As every year for more than 20 years, several million households will soon be receiving the “prime de Christmas. “The transfer will be made on Friday December 13. Beneficiaries will see it appear on their bank account between December 14th and 16th”, revealed this Monday to our confreres of Ouest-France Paul Christophe, Minister for Solidarity, Autonomy and Equality between Women and Men.
As we reported a few days ago, amounts will remain the same as last year. For example, a single person without children will receive 152.45 euros. If they have a dependent child, they will receive 308.72 euros. A childless couple will receive 228.68 euros, or 274.41 euros if they have a child.
Not taxable
Payment of this benefit is automatic after verification of eligibility. There is no need to apply. Recipients of the revenu de solidarité active (RSA), the Allocation de Solidarité Spécifique (ASS) and the Allocation Équivalent Retraite (AER). You may also be eligible if you receive the prime forfaitaire pour reprise d’activité (flat-rate bonus for resuming work), the rémunération de la formation France Travail (RFFT), the rémunération des stagiaires de la formation professionnelle (remuneration for vocational training trainees) or the rémunération publique de stage (public remuneration for training courses).
Only one bonus will be paid for each household. Note that the Christmas bonus is not taxable. It therefore does not need to be declared on the annual tax return. By 2023, 2.3 million households had received the Christmas bonus.
