The ODI was established in 2012 to create programs “that promote a diverse and inclusive workplace,” according to the FBI’s site. It also states that FBI employees can join a Diversity Advisory Committee (DAC) or an Employee Resource Group (ERG).
The @FBI has NINE diversity advisory committees. A little birdie just told me that today they removed DEI signage at the Hoover building and reassigned people to protect them from termination.@Kash_Patel can’t arrive soon enough. pic.twitter.com/XVCoysDQNk
The agency has been criticized for its embrace of DEI, especially in the wake of the terrorist attack on New Years in New Orleans.
“In recent weeks, the FBI took steps to close the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), effective by December 2024,” the agency’s press office said in a statement to the Caller.
The Caller also asked what happened to the department’s personnel and what prompted the closure, but did not receive answers to those questions. (RELATED: FBI Hired Barely Literate Candidates, Urged Fat Applicant To Continue Process, Report Alleges)
“The FBI is spinning like a top to get into the good graces of the incoming Donald Trump administration and protect the Communist subversives who weaponized the agency against the American people,” Friend told the Caller. “This token effort should be recognized for what it is- a desperate public relations move by a feckless organization on the eave of a complete overhaul by Kash Patel.”
The New Orleans FBI field office came under fire for its history of promoting DEI, particularly in its recruitment programs. The bureau held a “Diversity Agent Recruitment (DAR) event” in May of 2024, according to a press release. (RELATED: Biden-Harris DOJ Makes Maryland Hire Fat Female Cops)
