Nothing and no one will stop them the exploits of their little Brestois. Fans of the Breton club had planned to fly to Prague on Wednesday to attend the Champions League against Sparta. But they had the unpleasant surprise of seeing their flight cancelled due to a firefighters’ strike at Nantes airport, as relayed by the “Brest on Air” account, a podcast devoted to SB29 news, on X.
However, some made up their minds as soon as the announcement was made on Tuesday evening: they were going to drive to the Czech Republic. This is the case of Vivien, for example, who writes: “Departure by car at 8pm when the cancellation was announced… arrival in Prague scheduled for 12pm! What a journey!”
Others have chosen to combine their means of transport. “Marqui” recounts how he set off from Brest in the middle of the night for 3 hours and 30 minutes to reach his destination. Paris then board a flight to Prague, with a stopover in Amsterdam. “It’s so worth it, we’ll be laughing about it in a year’s time,” writes this fan.
Unfortunately, we imagine that not everyone who had planned to travel to the Czech capital had the means or the motivation to find an alternative. The “Brest On Air” account advises: “Many of you are asking us in DM to resell your parking space due to flight cancellations. If you sell seats, reply to this tweet. Sell at or below the purchase price of 32 euros (+ 1 euro handling fee).”
