Multistage system of water purification
1. Multistage system of water purification
Genuine good vodka can be made only from soft and live water, not a distilled one. This is a significant distinctive feature and advantage of our vodka. Before going to the final blend the spring water from a deep well on the grounds of KVINT Distillery undergoes the following 5 stages of purification:
- preliminary filtration with sand filters;
- treatment with ion-exchange resins on a special installation;
- bactericide treatment with UV-rays;
- filtration through the pack of fine fiber filters;
- filtration through the back-osmosis membrane.
2. Purification of the prepared alcohol-water solution
The ready vodka solution having alcoholic strength of at least 40% by volume is then subjected to further 3-phase purification:
- preliminary filtration with sand filters in order to detain eventual solid particles. Not any sand is suitable for this purpose. To achieve an inimitable taste and crystal clearness of our vodkas, we use special types of quartz sand from the Ural Mountains in Russia;
- processing in an adsorbent column with birch-tree charcoal, which notably improves organoleptic characteristics of the product;
- final filtration through fine sand filters, providing retention of fine-dispersated charcoal particles and adding to the crystal clearness of the final product.
3. Up-to-date technological equipment
In 1992 the Distillery has bought state of the art technological equipment, which is still among the best in the world. The whole plant represents a compact modern installation, protected by the patent of Russian Federation. The production process is totally controlled by automatics; it is performed within a closed cycle excluding any human contact with product on the equipment made of titanium and stainless steel. All vodkas produced by KVINT are certified kosher products. The observance of their kosher status is strictly supervised by the Kashrus Board of the Federation of Synagogues having their headquarters in London.
