On February 18 of this year Company KVINT was hosting an International Seminar on such important topic as filtration and stabilization of wines and alcoholic beverages as a way of obtaining high quality products. The event, featuring the most advanced filtration methods and techniques, was attended by more than 40 experts from leading enterprises of the wine industry from Pridnestrovie, Ukraine and Moldova.

The seminar was held by the world-renowned German company «BEGEROW». The managers of this company Walter Gitzen and Mathias Meier showed the latest developments of the firm in filtration media, clearing, fining and stabilization agents meant for food industry and particularly wine production. Among other things they presented the new filter-carton BECOPAD, which is more efficient, economical and environment friendly than its predecessors. The spokesmen dwelt on the topic of advantages of their filtering materials like various cartons, depth and membrane filters, and also preparations for treatment of wine, beer, vodka, brandy and other products, giving detailed description of their specific features, and some practical advice on their application in industry.
This seminar was very helpful for all attendees including specialist from KVINT, although they have been using BEGEROW’s products for many years by now. The focus of attention was drawn to the most interesting problem, which caused the hottest discussion: how to obtain sterile wine and achieve clearness of alcoholic products directly before bottling by using depth and membrane filtering cartridges, the techniques of their usage, methods of their cleaning and peculiarities of their storage.
The duration of the seminar (which lasted more than 6 hours) confirmed the keen interest of the audience in this topic, and friendly exchange of opinions was just another evidence that all participants were aspiring to improve the quality of their products and to heighten the competing power through the use of innovative technologies.
